Folklore Day (22 August) is one of major culture events annually held in Rio de Janeiro to honor the diverse set of myths, beliefs, and legends that comprise Brazilian folklore.
On August 22 1846, British archaeologist William John Toms used the word "Folklore" for the first time. On the Dia do Folclore, Brazil commemorates its many myths, legends and beliefs.
In 2016, it will be the major event which can be enjoyed after the Summer Olympics which ends in 21st August 2016, athletes and officials' entertainment before they go back to their country.
